ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of Zoology was established in 2016 with the launching of five year Integrated B. Sc. - M. Sc programme in Zoology. In all there are 10 semesters. The student have an exit option after three years (i.e. 6 semesters) in that case he/she will be conferred with B. Sc (honors) degree after passing the examinations prescribed for the course and after fulfilling the requirements laid down under the rules. The syllabus has been framed as per the UGC guidelines under CBCS scheme. In each semester there are Core courses, Generic elective courses and ability enhancement courses/ skill enhancement courses. The department of Zoology comprises of a community of dynamic faculty, students, and staff members who are passionate and committed to serving and leading the department through teaching and instruction. Department lays emphasis on hands-on practical training of the students and continuous internal assessment.

The conscientious faculty have attended and delivered presentations in various seminars/ workshop/training/ programmes and have been honored with awards and recognition at the state/national level. From time to time department organizes lectures/workshops/seminars by calling experts from other universities and institutes for enhancing research and academics. The faculty of Zoology is a team of vibrant, enthusiastic, assiduous and dynamic workers who are in continuous quest to provide an atmosphere of hard work, discipline, freedom and practicality with focus on education and research, together as a team with one mind, and to make contributions to the research and education of Zoology, as well as the economic growth of the country.
